Came in for Sunday brunch- well we left when we found out the buffet is $17.99 for mediocre food. And we couldn't order off the main menu until 11am- fair enough. So we left. That's way too much for a breakfast buffet! - sure endless mimosas if you buy the buffet, but those of us who wouldn't drink any? Shouldn't there be a cheaper option?
Guess we will have to give them another try for their regular men
**updated** we came in for happy hour on Thursday and enjoyed the roof top atmosphere! Was a great night weather wise. We got the chicken nachos appetizer- pretty good- huge portion for only $5.50 (1/2 off st HH). Husband got the mahomes- he thought it was decent- huge as well! We had leftovers that's for sure! Be sure to check in for the free appetizer! -

I've been to The Well Bar numerous times all of which I've found myself unimpressed. Well let me say this today was quite different.
One huge thing that really stood out to me was that when I asked the waitress for advice or support for vegan options she brought me this list which went through various things that could be made vegan with a few modifications here and there.
Rooftop seating is always a great option.
A decent stop for happy hour. Personally, I think their prices are a tad bit expensive ( and I'm not frugal person at all )
I'd personally recommend the trio, ( bruschetta was phenomenal ), or the beyond burger. -

I'm going to have to do this review in flights, because I've been to The Well many times just for a beer or as part of a crawl, but I figured a review was in order this time.
The Well is a lot of what you would expect: drink specials, great food, plenty of TV viewing options and good sight lines, and a quasi-unique rooftop 'patio' (at least for this area). I have been here before for brunch, on a spring day, but today was an escape from the snow for some late-afternoon munchies.
It's somewhat of an L-shape with a mix of high-tops and booths, but there is plenty of seating, particularly when the roof is really open. The roof has some fire pits for autumn and maybe part of winter, but no one wanted a piece of the weather today. But a pitcher of beer ($10 Miller Lite special on Saturdays!) and a couple of appetizers paved the way for heartier plates. Try the street tacos as an appetizer - they were a surprising win! I have had wings here before, and while they're good (think 8/10), the street tacos were unexpectedly delicious!
On to the reason for the post, and why I may need to do this in flights. A new menu item is 'The Mahomes', and it's simply understated in its creativity, engineering, and execution. It's a ribeye portion, atop a 'filet' of breaded/fried mac & cheese, with tater tots, cheese curds (really?), and onion rings adorning this 'sandwich'. Oh, and of course, it wouldn't be right to serve anything named Mahomes without ketchup, in this case as a Sriacha-infused taste grenade accompanying the tower of goodness. There are no sides added to this plate, because, well, the amount of food already borders on obscene. Cut it in half, deconstruct it as you wish, and get to business!
Like I said, The Well is a lot of what if what you'd expect, but it also has a number of different offerings and sets itself apart with events such as Sunday brunch. Pro tip: the Bloody Mary bar is essentially self-serve, building your own, and pairs nicely with the omelette stations and other brunch choices.
Parking can either be plentiful or sketchy, depending on events and weather. Waldo has plenty of other eating and drinking establishments in the same area, so a Chiefs game or a beautiful sunny weekend day can crowd things up.
Do The Well. Don't judge it by one visit, give it at least a couple of different visits to get a feel for a KC treasure. -

Had a nice time here with girlfriends. The waitress was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. Hello mojito! It was really good. The brushetta was nice and a generous offering.
